Ainsley Maitland-Niles 'is attracting interest from numerous clubs in England and Germany' as Arsenal put the youngster up for sale.

The 22-year-old could be sold this summer against manager Mikel Arteta's wishes with Arsenal desperate for the cash in order to bring new players in.

Gunners academy graduate Maitland-Niles, originally a midfielder, impressed while slotting in at right-back while Hector Bellerin was injured and has performed well in various positions.

Arsenal are reportedly holding out for £30m for the player but could be forced to settle for £20m amid the costly coronavirus pandemic.

The Sun reported that Arsenal's north London rivals Tottenham are among those to have registered interest in Maitland-Niles.

Fellow London clubs West Ham, Crystal Palace and Fulham are also reportedly interest.

And Sky Sports add that an unnamed Bundesliga side is also monitoring the situation.

Maitland-Niles joined Arsenal's academy at the age of six and made his 100th appearance for the club in the 2-1 FA Cup final win over Chelsea at Wembley earlier this month.

With three years left on his contract, Arteta was reluctant to add Maitland-Niles to the transfer list.

But funds will be needed if Arteta wants to embark on a £100m spending spree with Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhaes among their targets.

The Gunners also wish to make permanent the loan of Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid.
