Al-Hilal prepared to pay Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's £350,000-a-week wages on loan from Arsenal

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the subject of a loan proposal from Al Hilal, with the Saudi club prepared to pay all of the Arsenal striker’s £350,00-per-week wages.

Arsenal want to offload the Gabon striker this month, with the striker out of favour under under head coach Mikel Arteta following a number of disciplinary issues.

And Sportsmail has learned that Saudi’s most successful club Al Hilal, who are managed by former Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim, have put a package together to take Aubameyang on loan until the end of the season with an option to make the deal permanent in the summer.

Sources close to the Saudi club also claim that they would take on the striker’s wages - a deal that would be hugely attractive to Arsenal, who face paying Aubameyang’s huge salary even though he his playing future at the club is uncertain.

The Gunners are understood to be aware of Al Hilal’s interest in their former skipper.

Aubameyang and his advisors will consider the proposal in the coming days - and while Arsenal would likely accept a formal offer from Al Hilal given the opportunity to stop paying his wages until at least the summer - the decision ultimately rests with the player.

Indeed, there is growing interest in Aubameyang as the transfer deadline approaches. Al Nassr, who play in the Saudi Pro League alongside Al Hilal, are also interested in the 32-year-old.

Arsenal have also made a number of European clubs aware of Aubameyang’s availability in hope of triggering interest towards the end of the window.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are confident Aubameyang will make a full recovery after returning back to the club early from Africa Cup of Nations duty due to complications from a bout of Covid after putting the striker through a series of medical tests.
