N'golo Kante's stunning right-footed strike helped Al-Ittihad defeat Auckland City 3-0 in Jeddah on Tuesday night to advance to the second round of the FIFA Club World Cup.

It was Auckland's record-breaking 11th appearance in the tournament, but they have crashed out, with Al-Ittihad now advancing to take on Al Ahly.

Romarinho put the Saudi champions a goal up after 29 minutes, with Zakaria Al Hawsawi, playing his team-mate in to the penalty area with a lovely pass.

Kante doubled their lead just five minutes later, latching onto a rebound on the edge of the box, before belting his right foot through the ball, sending it flying into the bottom-right corner of the net.

It was a stunning strike and the former Chelsea midfielder, who moved to the club earlier this summer, caught it perfectly.

Fans watching the game pointed out that Kante, who has now scored twice in all competitions since joining Al-Ittihad, did not celebrate the goal, but was engulfed by his team-mates in a group huddle.

The Saudi side qualified for the tournament having won the 2022-23 Saudi Pro League, with Manchester City set to enter into the tournament at the semi-final stages, with their first game set to take place on December 19.

'The man is too humble. He looks like he was embarrassed he scored,' one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

'Look how humble my guy is,' another said while one fan wrote: 'Best celebration in the world.'

Another added, posting several 'crying eye' emojis 'Still doesn't know how to celebrate. Miss this baller.'

Karim Benzema added the third goal before half-time, with Muhannad Al Shanqiti squaring the ball to the former Real Madrid star, who tapped in to seal the match.

In fact, the goal means the French striker has now become the first player to score in four separate Club World Cups.

Should Al-Ittihad beat Al Ahly, they'll take on Fluminese in the semis on December 18.
