Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad are expecting a final answer from Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema (35) soon.
Romain Molina reported yesterday that Saudi Arabia were confident of luring the former France international away from the Bernabeu. Romano has now revealed that Benzema received the offer from Al Ittihad last week, before Real Madrid’s game against Sevilla. Real Madrid have been informed of the offer, but want to retain the Olympique Lyonnais academy product for a further year. A one-year extension is on the table.
However, Benzema is now discussing the deal with his entourage, and a departure is possible. Al Ittihad are expecting a final answer “very soon,” according to Romano.
Sports Zone reported yesterday that the Saudi club were proposing a two-year contract worth around €200m. This reporting is in line with Romano’s reporting, which states that Benzema would earn close to €100m per season plus benefits.
