Alberto Moreno has sent a touching message of thanks to all at Liverpool FC as his five year spell at the club ended.
Always a popular figure around the dressing room and the training ground, Moreno took to Twitter this evening on his departure from the club to thank everyone for the support shown to him and said he will "forever carry in his heart" his time at Anfield.
The Spaniard wrote: "Hi Reds
"Life goes in circles, and mine at my beloved Liverpool FC has drawn to an end. Upon reaching this point, I would like to thank the entire Liverpool family: my dear teammates, with whom I have shared five marvellous years and who I will forever think of as family, and, of course, the owners, directors, coaching staff, doctors, physios, kitmen, and each and every person at the club.
"Thank you for making me a better footballer and, above all, a better person ; for helping me to fulfil one of my childhood dreams by winning the Champions League and, in doing so, to become a small part of the history of the his great club.
"My gratitude too to the city, which embraced me as one of its own from day one and which will live on in my memory whenever I look at my son, Alberto Jr., a Liverpudlian himself.
"Finally, a very special thank you to the club's superb fans, who always supported me. I wish you all at Liverpool FC the greatest successes. Wherever life takes me from here, I will always carry you in my heart and forever be a fan.
"You'll Never Walk Alone!!!!!
"Alberto Moreno"
The Spanish defender, who arrived from his hometown club Sevilla for £12m in the summer of 2014, became a free agent today after his contract expired.
The 26-year-old made 141 appearances for the club in that time, scoring three goals.
He became a first team regular after being signed by Brendan Rodgers making 41 and 50 appearances in all competitions in his first two seasons but lost his place at left back to James Milner in 2016/17 and the arrival of Andy Robertson the following summer saw his opportunities limited further.

We will always have that goal Alby. It's a shame the team outgrew you, and there's absolutely no shame in that either. Good luck where you end up, and you'll always get a warm welcome if you find yourself here on an away leg
