Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been given a timely fitness boost after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returned to the first-team fold on Tuesday.
The England midfielder hasn't featured for the reigning Premier League champions all season after sustaining another injury to his knee during pre-season.
But on Tuesday, Oxlade-Chamberlain returned to full training with the first team at the club's AXA training base in Kirkby ahead of their Champions League encounter at Midtjylland on Wednesday.
He will not feature against the Danish side on Wednesday but will return to action soon, and could potentially be in contention when Liverpool travel to Fulham on Sunday.
The former Arsenal man's return will come as a huge delight to Klopp, who has seen his squad become decimated by injuries so far this season.
The likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are long-term absentees for the Reds while Thiago Alcantara, Alisson, James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri remain sidelined.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is following both Naby Keita and Trent Alexander-Arnold in returning to the first-team fold after they made second-half cameos against Wolves on Sunday following their recoveries from injury.
Oxlade-Chamberlain's Liverpool career has been derailed by injuries but he will be desperate for a clear run of action now.
He missed over a year of action after injuring his anterior cruciate ligament in April 2018 against Roma in the Champions League.
Klopp will be eager for more of his first-team stars to return to full fitness soon as their hectic schedule continues going into the Christmas period.
The Reds face six matches before the New Year, including against Premier League leaders Tottenham on December 16.
