Alvaro Odriozola has completed a return to former club Real Sociedad from Real Madrid.
Odriozola has played a reduced role in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans at Real Madrid during the last 12 months with the 27-year-old making just three La Liga appearances last season.
Ancelotti has opted against using him since the start of the 2023/24 campaign as talks over a La Real comeback continued.
Real Madrid wanted to bring in a fee for Odriozola, despite his contract expiring in 2024, with reports from Marca claiming they have settled on a €3m bid.
Odriozola has returned to the Basque Country on a contract until 2029 as he looks to revive his career in San Sebastian.
The Basque native emerged through the La Real youth ranks as a teenager before making the move to Madrid in 2018.
Despite only making 49 appearances in all competitions, across five seasons in Madrid, Odriozola is expected to be a key player at Real Sociedad.

That would be good for him. playing time is the most important aspect of a player's career. Hope to see you back at Madrid in a very near future..!!!!!

Honestly, we had a horrible transfer window. Jude, Arda, Joselu, Fran and Brahim I am sure will do great, and Jude has already showed himself to be a star of the team. But where are the reinforcements we’ve needed even before Benzema left. Where is our extra star man up front? And where is the long needed new right back? Mbappe coming for free next season isn’t a given, but even if he comes, I still think we should’ve gotten Osimhen, Kolo Muani or maybe even Højlund/Vlahovic. The dream would’ve been Haaland, but he isn’t gonna leave city for at least 2-3 years I think. On right back we should’ve gotten Fresneda if we needed to save money, but I would’ve liked to get Hakimi back. Our team wasn’t strong enough to win any big trophies last season, and now we have lost Asensio and Benzema, and replaced them with no one. Our midfield is probably the strongest in the world when considering quality and depth, but we have some issues in defense and attack. Especially now that Militao, Courtois and Vini are out with injuries.
You had a great analysis & atleast, we should've gotten a potent striker to compliment some of our academy players who could have provided a cover up. Madrid's obsession in getting Mbappe if care is not taken could ruin the club's mission. He's too tricky & indecisive but we leave everything in the hands of our abled President 👁👁👁
