Amorim: The vibe within the squad is great, we can only keep it by winning

In the tenth round of the Premier League, Manchester United will face Nottingham Forest away from home. Ahead of the match, United manager Amorim gave an interview to the club's official media.

Ruben, the team has secured three consecutive Premier League victories recently, and the atmosphere within the squad appears to be excellent. How would you describe the current situation?

It certainly feels different. When you're winning, the working environment improves. Everyone enjoys coming to the training ground more and relishes spending time with teammates. It's a completely different feeling, and we all recognise that. But we must focus on the next match, because everything hinges on the next game. The current work ethic is excellent, and we aim to maintain this momentum. There's only one way to sustain this feeling – keep winning.

Next up is a challenging away fixture at the City Ground. Last season we lost 1-0 there, conceding from a counterattack by Elanga. What are your thoughts on the current Nottingham Forest side? What form are they in?

In a league like the Premier League, you can't dwell too much on the past because every game is different. They'll have their home crowd behind them, while we'll have our fantastic away supporters travelling. I believe they possess many talented players and a very astute manager. The pressure is on us; expectations are high, but that's actually a positive thing.

When a team combines talent with organisation, they can win any match. They've prepared for this fixture, and we're equally aware of the challenge ahead, but we're confident of securing victory next time out.

How different will they be under Dyche?

I expect them to be tougher opponents, much like Nuno's side. He's an exceptionally astute and experienced manager. I expect them to look to hit us on the counter – that's how we lost last season. We must be fully focused on every detail of the game.

We must understand this won't be like facing Liverpool or Brighton, where there's space to exploit. It could be tougher than even the Sunderland game. We need to be mentally prepared for potential difficulties penetrating their defensive third, but we've prepared for that scenario.

It's brilliant to see Martínez back on the pitch training with the squad. How is his recovery progressing? What's the current state of the entire squad?

We have one final training session before heading to Nottingham. You'll see. Harry Maguire might not be ready for this match – it's still too early to say. Everyone else is fine. Lisandro isn't quite ready yet. He's desperate to play – if you saw him training, you'd think he was match-fit – but he needs more time. We have to be cautious. The rest of the squad have worked incredibly hard this week, which is a positive sign. All week I've sensed this positive energy – not a 'we've won a few games so we can relax' mentality, but quite the opposite: more confidence, more enjoyment, coupled with a faster tempo and higher intensity in training. It feels very good.

It was also mentioned at the press conference that this weekend marks your first anniversary in charge of the team. What new insights have you gained about yourself over this year?

The most important thing I've learnt is this: throughout my managerial career, I've mostly been on the winning side. When you keep winning, you feel you're 'sticking to your principles' and 'staying true to your philosophy'. But the real test comes when you lose, when you're under pressure.

I've learnt that when under pressure, I become even more resolute in sticking to my convictions and adhering to my plans. Naturally, feeling the support of everyone at the club—especially the trust and encouragement from the fans—is vital. It gives you the confidence to keep moving forward. My greatest gain this year has been discovering that when facing pressure, I can remain steadfast on my chosen path
