Ruben Amorim thinks that it is strange that his job at Manchester United is safe even if they lose the Europa League final, while Ange Postecoglou is in danger of being sacked even if Tottenham Hotspur win.
United face Spurs at Bilbao's San Mames Stadium on Wednesday in the final of Europe's secondary club competition, despite the fact both teams have endured dreadful domestic seasons and occupy the two spots above the relegation zone in the Premier League.
Asked why he was not under the same pressure as Postecoglou in his pre-match press conference, he replied: "I don't know," as quoted by the Guardian.
“People, especially the board, understand that we have a lot of issues that in the context are really hard. I don’t know how to explain [why] the fans like me at this moment. It’s hard to explain. I will try to prove myself to the fans, to the board, but I don’t have an explanation for you.”
Amorim acknowledged that, despite a poor season away from European competition, he was not concerned for his job. Currently 16th, United are on course for their lowest ever Premier League finish and worst in the top flight since they finished 21st and were relegated in 1973-74.
“It’s a good thing for me. I never worry about that. That is a part of being a coach. And the most important thing, I know what I’m doing. I explained everything before we start, I explain about the storm [that would come]," he said.
“I explain all the problems that we have to the board. I explained that I will not change my idea. So they cannot say one thing that I said to get the job and then I change my mind. It was the opposite. The board can understand that, the fans can understand that.”
But with the Europa League final approaching, he would not be drawn on how long it would take to turn United's domestic fortunes around.
“It’s hard to speak about that because we need to be excited [about the final] and confident but we already know the problems," he said.
"Tomorrow will be important for us and for our fans because winning can help us to have that strength to do every job we have to do. Tomorrow will be massive for us and our fans.”

amorin should go. I alway believe if a coach can't adopt he should be fired. none of the players suits his style so what he's going to go out in the transfer market and buy a whole new team.

Amorin Ruben, really is not so good in training, and also by making line up for his players to the game, he should make aline up of 4:3:3 but not 3:4:3.He will never win by these line up.

Amorim should not worry about his job, because the owners of MANCHESTER United believe in him. Amorim will do his job his own way. Get that, from a LIVERPOOL FAN.
