Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim made a young fan's 'dream come true' this week after kindly taking him for a lap around Carrington training centre in his car.
The Portuguese boss, who has endured a difficult start to life as Red Devils boss with three defeats on the spin ahead of Monday's Premier League clash against Newcastle, was labelled 'a humble, normal man' after making the touching gesture.
Amorim's United staged a sensational 2-1 comeback win over local rivals Manchester City earlier this month but have since slipped to 14th in the Premier League table, losing 3-0 to Bournemouth and 2-0 against Wolves while also crashing out of the Carabao Cup with defeat at Tottenham.
Despite struggling to churn out positive results early in his United career, Amorim has endeared himself towards Red Devils supporters with his manner — and his kindness was on full display at Manchester United's training ground this week.
In footage shared to social media on Sunday, the young supporter approached Amorim's car at Carrington to hand him what appeared to be a card, prompting the Manchester United boss to shake his hand and pose for a photograph.
Moments later, after telling Amorim he liked his car, the amazed fan was invited to sit in the passenger seat and was driven around the training centre by Manchester United's 39-year-old boss.
The video ended with the words: 'Speechless, I was extremely thankful! Thank you Ruben for making a dream a reality'.
Fans were quick to laud Amorim for his touching gesture on social media.
Commenting on the video, one supporter said: 'What an absolute legend'.
A second fan added: 'Dude is epic! We got your back Ruben'.
'What a very likeable guy we have as manager,' another said.
'Protect our manager at all costs,' a fourth posted. 'Such a nice gesture. Top man and what an experience for the kid.'
Amorim is already under pressure at Manchester United less than two months after taking charge as Erik ten Hag's permanent successor.
The Red Devils are only eight points clear of the relegation zone ahead of Monday's home clash with Newcastle, with 13 points already separating them from fourth place.
The match at Old Trafford begins a tricky run for Amorim, who must next take on Arne Slot's in-form Liverpool at Anfield before travelling to the Emirates to face Arsenal in the FA Cup third round in January.
Amorim stressed that Manchester United must adopt survival mode after suffering their fourth defeat in five Premier League games at Molineux last week.
Writing off the Red Devils' chances of qualifying for Europe in the Premier League, he said: 'In this moment we just have to survive and to win sometimes.
'No, no, no (to the prospect of European qualification). We have to work on a lot of things in our club both inside and outside the pitch.’
Perhaps more alarmingly still for United fans, Amorim insisted that he has ‘no idea’ how long it will take for his side to improve.
‘I have no idea. No idea,’ he added. ‘Instead of me trying to understand how much time it will take - just day by day it’s about improving, trying to see videos and using every minute of training and try to win some points because it’s really important in this moment.
'The idea needs time. This will be a tough moment, we are far from the end of this moment and that’s it - we have to continue and focus on the next game.'
