Ruben Amorim said Manchester United can still be more clinical after they romped to a 4-1 win over a sorry Wolves side at Molineux.
United climbed to sixth in the Premier League table with Monday's victory, with Bruno Fernandes netting twice and being joined on the scoresheet by Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount.
The Red Devils mustered 27 shots overall, their most in a single Premier League game under Amorim. They last attempted more in December 2023, against Chelsea (28).
They also generated 4.1 expected goals (xG) compared to Wolves' 0.4. Across all competitions, United have only amassed a higher figure once under Amorim, against Real Sociedad in the Europa League in March (4.25 xG).
While Amorim was pleased with his team's performance, he did not think they deserved to be credited for more clinical finishing.
"I think we started the game really well. We scored a goal, and we let Wolves get back into the game a little bit," Amorim told Sky Sports.
"We suffered on the last play of the first half, but in the second half, we had good pace and good quality with our decisions. We finished the game off, and Wolves are in a difficult moment. It was a good evening.
"We scored four, but we had a lot of shots, so I can't make that connection with us being more clinical.
"I think we improved a lot if you compare us to last season. This season, we are creating so many more chances and scoring more goals and having more real situations of danger, so I'm really pleased with that.
"I felt since the first minute, if it did not come sooner, then we would win the game. I really enjoyed how we played the second half."
Former Wolves forward Matheus Cunha fired off eight shots, at least three more than any other player (Fernandes had five), though he only hit the target once.
But the Brazil international did register an assist for Fernandes' first goal, also playing a key role in Mbeumo's goal as his threaded throughball picked out Diogo Dalot.
Cunha has now been involved in 12 goals in his last 13 Premier League appearances at Molineux (six goals, six assists).
And Amorim was impressed by the way Cunha's movement opened space for the likes of Fernandes and Mount.
"They have the quality to do that," he added. "They can change positions, especially if you play a guy like Matheus Cunha, he moves around more than a typical nine, so we took advantage of that."

Amorim if you want your job....you need to point out the players with lack of/over confidence ..and your captain is talking too much inside the field...you should give some space of penalty and freekick to other player he is too greedy and over confidence

U should be more clinical.. alot of chance wasted.. playing with wolves a very bad team dat got u all dat chance.. but still with all this lazy and slow players..we missed alot.. remeber wolves having a very very bad time now.. u wont have chance like this with other team.. so 4-1 doesnt make man utd look good.. because with the chance u have u should have won woth a bigger margin..anyway 3point matters..
