Amorim's post-match comments spark backlash from Man Utd fans: "Get ready for hardship"

Manchester United fans are closely monitoring Amorim's tenure at Milan, and his comments and actions following a recent match have sparked strong reactions from supporters.

Amorim and Milan faced an old rival in their latest pre-season match against Chelsea.

The team had previously drawn with Celtic and Inter Milan, but this encounter saw a significant step backward—a 0-3 defeat with little threat posed to their opponents.

After the match, Amorim's remarks angered both Milan and Manchester United fans. Though it was only a pre-season fixture, Amorim has yet to record a win since taking charge at Milan, and the poor performance against Chelsea will certainly concern him.

He has adjusted his coaching philosophy to emphasize possession-based football, and further tactical changes may emerge from this match.

Following the 0-3 loss, Amorim used familiar language, hinting he would make decisions about some players "within the week."

However, what infuriated fans more than potential departures was Amorim's pre-match statement that he knew the team would "suffer."

He said: "We knew it would be difficult against Chelsea, but we wanted the players to experience such a match. They are experts at team defense, strong in one-on-one duels, and apply intense pressing."

Upon hearing this language, fans reacted sharply. One commented: "Enjoy the word 'suffering,'" while another wrote: "The PTSD Amorim left Manchester United fans with is real."

A third fan said: "It's the same old story. This man won't do anything concrete; I'd be shocked if he actually makes changes. Milan fans will eventually blame the board because they already despise the ownership."

Another fan joked: "Following Amorim means preparing yourself to suffer—it's inevitable."

A fifth fan added: "Milan fans, brace yourselves. You'll hear the word 'suffer' constantly now. He'll cite growing pains during the tactical transition, but the tactics never materialize, and this ordeal only ends when he's sacked."

One fan wrote: "After destroying Manchester United, this 'misery merchant' has arrived at Milan," while another captured the sentiment of United supporters perfectly:

"Milan fans, I sympathize with you. You're about to endure an unprecedented nightmare, experiencing shame and frustration like never before. Sunday afternoons will become your week's darkest moment. You may even come to resent life itself. God help you."
