TV pundit Andy Gray has slammed VAR for crushing the 'soul of the game' after more controversy at the weekend.
Arsenal were left fuming after Anthony Gordon's match-deciding goal was allowed to stand, while Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes avoided punishment for a supposed elbow on Jorginho.
And Former Liverpool player Iago Aspas showed his frustrations with VAR after throwing the official's monitor on the floor during Celta Vigo's match.
Gray told BeIN SPORTS: 'VAR has done more damage to our game than anything that we have changed in the last 100 years!
'You talk to any football fan who goes to a (Premier League) match now and who wants to celebrate a goal and can't.
'It's becoming disjointed, it's becoming like American football. It stops for four or five minutes.
'It's taken the soul of the game.
'I would only keep VAR for is offside and the goalline.'
Arsenal released a statement on Sunday supporting manager Mikel Arteta after he slammed the refereeing standards in England following his side's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday.
The statement says the club is backing their manager after 'yet more unacceptable refereeing and VAR errors'.
It continues by suggesting that fans, players and managers 'deserve better' from the PGMOL.
Arteta was left fuming after the final whistle at St James' Park as Anthony Gordon's match-deciding goal was allowed to stand, while Bruno Guimaraes avoided punishment for a supposed elbow on Jorginho.
Gordon's decisive strike went through three separate VAR checks before being allowed to stand, with referee Stuart Attwell and VAR official Andy Madley deeming that Joe WIllock had kept the ball in play, Joelinton had not fouled Gabriel and that the goalscorer was onside.
In Spain, Aspas showed his frustrations with VAR after throwing the official's monitor on the floor during Celta Vigo's match.
The incident took place in the final moments of their crucial LaLiga clash with Sevilla on Saturday, which ended up a 1-1 draw.
Celta Vigo thought they had the chance to snatch all three points after referee Alejandro Hernandez awarded them a penalty for an foul by Jesus Navas on Anastasios Douvikas.
However, after a consultation with VAR, the officials overturned the original decision and rescinded the yellow card handed out to Navas.

stop crying every club in EPL has been the victim of the incorrect VAR decisions.
so shouldn't that be corrected? VAR has only given frustration to all rather than the satisfaction it should.

The solution to all these VAR nd PGMOL is as simple as EUROPEAN SUPER LEAGUE, by then their useless VAR and officiating will only be for their families

So it is a fair game for any player to elbow another player’s head providing they didn’t use it as a weapon? That’s not what Law 12 said. Why was the camera 10 yards off the goal line. What’s the point of VAR when toy don’t have the cameras in the right place. No evidence of a push ? Did they actually watch the video?

PGMOL have responded following today’s controversial decisions at St James’ Park. On Bruno Guimaraes elbow: “He's not used his arm as a weapon, it's not nice but no more than a yellow card.” On the Newcastle goal: “The ball looks out but we can't possibly give it from that angle.” On the push on Gabriel: “There's two hands on Gabriel's back but we can't be sure it's a push.” On Gordon being offside: “There's no conclusive evidence whether Gordan is behind the ball, so stick with onfield decision.” Shame 😳🙄🫴👉 on VAR👀🤔👉
