Another Neymar & Pedro case? Frimpong said he hoped Depay return, turns out to be he the one missing

Netherland's Jeremie Frimpong misses the 2026 World Cup squad. Days ago, he said in an interview about Memphis Depay's importance to the team and weather in US.

When asked about Depay's importance to the Dutch team, Frimpong said, "Of course, I hope he can return to the team and play. He is an indispensable core member of the team. Everyone knows his goal-scoring ability and how crucial his role is in major tournaments. I am very much looking forward to his participation with the team. There is no doubt that he will bring great help to the team. We have all witnessed his strength on the field." 

Additionally, during the same interview, the journalist also asked, "You are capable of playing multiple positions, and it's almost a certainty that you'll be included in the roster for this World Cup. Everyone is curious about which position you prefer to play the most?" 

It's worth mentioning that Brazilian forward João Pedro has previously experienced such a thing. When Pedro was asked in an interview about Neymar's inclusion in Brazil's World Cup squad, he said: "Neymar is Neymar, just like Messi is to Argentina, Neymar is such an existence for Brazil.
