Marko Arnautovic is giving professional footballers a bad name. For his agent to have said that he wants to challenge for titles in China is treating West Ham and their fans with complete and utter disdain.
His desire for a move is fueled by nothing more than greed. What Arnautovic chooses to do with his career is up to him but there was no need for that statement to be issued.
If he is heading for the exit, he should show the club who helped resurrect his career a great deal more respect.
Despite doubts about his attitude, West Ham took a chance on Arnautovic and made him their record signing.
Even after a slow start to his career at the London Stadium, the supporters took him to their hearts and embraced him as their main man.
Arnautovic has repaid that faith by looking to make a fast buck — even though he already earns around £100,000 a week.
Trying to force a move would be easier to stomach if he wanted to test himself at a bigger club. If you harbour ambitions of having a top career at the highest level, you don’t move to the Chinese league aged 29.
West Ham are still in the FA Cup. If he inspired them to win that trophy, he would go down in the club’s history. If he does go to China he risks fading away

Excuse is as lame as Trump servicing fast food to his recent guests @ the White House. He's cashing in...go chase the money and that is it...ugh!!!

Wow, the person who's written this article is ruthless. But, to be honest, I'm pissed off he's decided to sell out. He needs to go. We need to get rid. He wants a fast buck, so let him. Don't want a player that won't dedicate themselves to the club. I feel cheated to have vouched for him as our star player.

How dare someone want to do the same job for more money
Same job in China!!! He could do the same job at one of the big 6 clubs in England or a Champions League level club in another league.

Challenge for titles in China, that's the most absurd thing to say over the last 100 years of football. He can be pals with Pele from Southampton, they will have a good time in the exclusive bars and restaurants because it's not for the football.

So are most careers. Everybody wants to achieve the lost and earn the most. He won't achieve anything with West Ham, so why not massively increase your wages elsewhere. He has a lot of life left to think about beyond football

He’s going to make millions and be retired in 3 years! Sounds like a pretty damn good gig to me! It‘s easy for a fan

Footballers are like you and me. We all want to be paid the most possible so that we retire in comfort after living the life of luxury.

He has every right to try and earn as much money as he can....just like the rest of us. He can stay in Europe playing for mid table clubs or he can go to China and earn the same as Messi - absolute no brainier

Nothing wrong with being greedy. Everyone wants to make more money. it's not like west ham is going to win anything with or without him.

So true. As if he hasn't got enough money. West Ham may be better cutting this one loose. A sad waste of he goes to China.

What can he really achieve in the premiership? West Ham( and most of the league) aren't going to win the title a cup is an outside bet. Whereas he can go to China make huge money and win trophies

Why do Chinese clubs put these offers in mid season. They did the same to Diego Costa. Of course these players heads will be turned and it disrupts the player, team and club?

I assume Chris Sutton would turn down any massive pay rise that he was offered?

Its a life changing amount of money but it doesn't seem to have tempted other players of his age and ability to go out there.

Almost everyone in the world would change company if they were offered way more money to do an easier role within the same industry. So lets not be hypocrites and be happy he will be able to put 20-30m in the bank for his retirement.
