A trio of Premier League sides are said to be in talks with Denis Zakaria.
Who is Denis Zakaria?
Denis Zakaria joined Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer of 2017.
The Swiss midfielder left Young Boys for a fee believed to be around £10m.
Zakaria has since gone on to firmly establish himself as a key cog at the base of Gladbach’s midfield.
The 24-year-old, prior to a knee injury, notched 31 outings for Monchengladbach in 2019/20, playing a central role in the German outfit securing a Champions League berth.
And though the same injury also saw him miss the start of the 2020/21 campaign, Zakaria would regain fitness and once again finish this past season as an integral part of Gladbach’s midfield.
He featured 32 times across the season, including five times in the Champions League.
Premier League trio in talks with Zakaria
Previously, the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City have all been credited with an interest in the 34-time capped international.
Now though, word from Germany suggests that a different trio of Premier League clubs are now eyeing up the midfielder.
Bild’s Christian Falk is reporting that Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton are all in talks for the transfer of Zakaria.
Said trio do look to be facing competition from Italy, however, with AS Roma and Napoli named as interested parties also.
No potential fee is mentioned in the update from Falk.
