Arsenal moved within seven points of leaders Liverpool as Jurrien Timber and William Saliba scored from corners to inflict Ruben Amorim's first defeat as Manchester United boss.

ARSENAL reminded Liverpool the title race is far from over with a narrow win over Manchester United.

The Merseysiders dropped points earlier in the night thanks to a thrilling draw with Newcastle at St James' Park.

And the Gunners narrowed the gap between themselves and the Reds thanks to a 1-0 win over the visiting Red Devils.

Mikel Arteta's troops once again took the lead through a set-piece, with Jurrien Timber heading them into the lead in the 54th minute with a deft near-post header following a Declan Rice.

And they doubled their lead from another corner in the 73rd minute thanks to William Saliba, who knew little about the goal.

Victory over United leaves Arsenal seven points behind league leaders Liverpool, who drew 3-3 at St James' Park.

Defeat for United was the first of Ruben Amorim's brief reign in charge of the visitors.
