Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suffered his first Premier League defeat since being appointed Manchester United's interim manager as Arsenal leapfrogged their opponents to move into the top four.
Match Report
Arsenal struck a potentially significant boost in the race for the Premier League top four with a 2-0 win over Manchester United at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
A Granit Xhaka strike and a second-half penalty from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who missed from the spot in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham last week, gave the Gunners three valuable points that lift them into fourth.
The result also ends United's nine-game winning run away from home under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, just four days on from their dramatic Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

1' Lacazette almost gives Arsenal a dreamy start!
Kolasinac surges down the left flank and he fires the ball across the face of goal, but Lacazette just cannot reach it in the middle. An early threat from the Gunners.
3' CHANCE! Aubameyang's bicycle kick over the bar
Arsenal win a free-kick on the right flank following a foul by Matic on Ramsey. Maitland-Niles floats the ball into the box and it bounces around awkwardly. Koscielny hooks the ball into the air before Aubameyang tries an acrobatic effort that sails over the bar.
8' CLOSE! Lukaku's shot hits the bar
OFF THE BAR! Shaw swings a dangerous cross into the box from the left flank and Lukaku meets the ball on the stretch. He connects with his right boot, but his effort loops into the air and hits the bar. United try to keep the pressure on, but Fred fails to make contact on the slide before Pogba heads straight at Leno.
12'GOAL! Arsenal 1-0 Man Utd (Xhaka)
GOALLLLLLLLLL!!! XHAKA SWERVES A STRIKE PAST DE GEA!!! 1-0 ARSENAL!!! Arsenal take the lead with a sublime effort from Xhaka, although De Gea will not be thrilled with himself. United afforded the midfielder space and time to line up a strike from distance. He connected well with his effort and it travelled towards the net. De Gea lost the track of the ball as it swerved from right to left before nestling into the bottom corner. Not the Spaniard's best moment, but Arsenal will take it.
18' PITY! Fred's shot hits the post
OFF THE POST! United work the ball with patience on the edge of the box before Pogba picks out Fred. He goes for the strike on his left foot, but it strikes the post and travels behind for a goal-kick.
69'Penalty Goal! Arsenal 2-0 Man Utd (Aubameyang)
GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! AUBAMEYANG CONVERTS!! 2-0!! Arsenal double their advantage as the Gabonese slides the ball into the back of the net. Aubameyang waits for De Gea to commit himself and he slots the ball down the middle of the net. Arsenal have control of the contest now.
70' Lacazette misses one-on-one chance
CHANCE! Lindelof allows the ball to bounce over his head and Lacazette pounces. He pulls the trigger in the right inside channel on a low drive, but he places his effort just wide of the post.

Arsenal finished the last season with 63 points. And now with today's victory, they're already at 60 points with 8 games still left to play. Incredible from Unai Emery amd Arsenal 👏 [Also, Arsenal won't face any of the Top-6 teams in their last 8 games]

I knew it would happen we were underestimating arsenal, In today's match rashy thought he was messi not passing the ball even it's space near him and then looses the ball. He need to be good in decisions. Very much disappointed from today's performance.

We didn't played that bad and neither Arsenal played that good so I'm not that mad about today's performance That De Gea goal shouldn't had happened and also the penalty wasn't right IMO but at the end we missed our chances and got punished for it and Arsenal took theirs and won the match So a fair result at the end and let's hope the team bounce back against Wolves in the FA Cup and reach the Semi Final

Fun fact: If Chelsea wins their game in hand, Man Utd will be back to 6th, the same position when Moanrinho got sacked.

Arsenal broke two crucial records in seven days: 1. they are the first team to draw with Tottenham this season. 2. they ended Ole Gunnar's unbeaten record domestically. to Emery and his players

Lukaku was kind of wasteful today, united played well but they were very wasteful. We lost a critical match today but 2 points behind is not too much of a big margin. We still want solskjear Congratulations to arsenal, they did to us what we did to PSG.
