Arsenal claimed their first Premier League victory of the Unai Emery era on Saturday with a scrappy win over West Ham at the Emirates Stadium.
Match Events
25' GOAL! Arsenal 0-1 West Ham (Arnautovic)
The Hammers have been probing and get the breakthrough after hitting on the counter. Filipe Anderson and Arnautovic combine, with the latter then drilling a low finish from outside the box beyond the reach of Cech.
30' GOAL! Arsenal 1-1 West Ham (Monreal)
Brilliant play from Arsenal down the right sees Bellerin drill a ball across the face of goal where Monreal has found space, firing home into an empty net.
46' CHANCE! Snodgrass shot denied by Cech
70' OWN GOAL! Arsenal 2-1 West Ham (Diop)
It is a messy finish but they will not care! West Ham cannot deal with the danger as Lacazette takes the touch down, turns to knock the ball back into the danger zone where Diop gets the final touch. A very cruel own goal.
92' GOAL! Arsenal 3-1 West Ham (Welbeck)
The Gunners' hard work finally pays off as Bellerin slides a pass into the middle where Welbeck turns before firing home from the middle of the box.
Match Report
Unai Emery claimed his first win in charge of Arsenal as Issa Diop's own goal and a stoppage-time Danny Welbeck strike secured a 3-1 Premier League victory over West Ham at Emirates Stadium.
Marko Arnautovic gave the visitors a 25th-minute lead, with Nacho Monreal restoring parity five minutes later.
An entertaining and error-strewn contest continued to flow from end to end but an injury to Arnautovic robbed West Ham of their prime attacking threat before Diop erred.
Welbeck came off the bench to gleefully blast in from close range, ensuring Manuel Pellegrini's fledgling West Ham tenure stands at three defeats out of three.
Arnautovic asked constant questions of Arsenal's high and shaky backline and had already thrashed into the side netting before he exchanged passes with Felipe Anderson to arrow a 20-yard drive into the bottom corner.

Pretty good game from Arsenal but alot can be improved. Our defense was better today but still very vulnerable. Sokratis defended pretty well but Bellerin really needs to improve his defending. I can see Emerys style in the team now

There still isn't much command on their playing style and provided a rattling performance.Defence continues to let down for Arsenal.Arnautovic opened the scoring with a nice assist from Felipe Anderson.Moneral equalizes a few minutes later to provide relief for Arsenal.Emery needed this win terribly.During the second half the gunners were a bit more composed and had more possession. The tables turned after the 70th minute when Arsenal began to lead and became aggressive in attack.West Ham had fizzled by then and in the end Welbeck sealed it all officially.

I'm surprised Unai doesn't seem to understand Ozil's ongoing travails. The whole world is a witness to the scathing criticisms meted at Ozil by his countrymen following Germany's surprised disgraceful outing at the last world cup in Russia. The young guy is having probably the most difficult moment of his football career. He's had to painfully and prematurely announce his retirement from International football, citing racial discrimination as prime reason why he is always singled out 'responsible' in the middle of German galacticos whenever things go wrong with the national team. People must also understand Ozil's situation and show some sympathy. These are days when he needs all the support to avoid a prolonged emotional chaos that could affect his game and impact on Arsenal's game results. I know the media always like to blow things out of proportion and context. Whatever it is that has happened, I hope and expect Unai to be there for Mesut. I heard Emery say good things about Ozil a few days ago in respect of the German's retirement from the intentional football and I'd expect the same to continue. I'm sure the coach can handle it, he should never allow the British media, pundits and enemies of progress divert his attention from Arsenal. He has to save Arsenal, and his job.

Arsenal were lucky to get maximum points against West Ham. West Ham failed to take their chances just as Arsenal did against Chelsea last weekend. Unai has so much work to do. A very brave and sharp team would have beaten Arsenal silly today. Hopefully this marks the beginning of good things for Arsenal in the Unai Emrey era.

Yes Arsenal won but for me they played poorly, the games against City and Chelsea were better , i saw consistency. Full back these days tend to forget that essentially their rôle ia in defending, Bellerin performance was poor today, same with xhaka Ramsey, mkhitaryan. Iwobi wasn't also on his good day, when Lacazette came in, we saw à different match, it was thesame against City, i hope Emery understood that
