Arsenal defender Stephan Lichsteiner has been heavily criticised for his performance against Manchester City, with Sky Sports pundit Alex Scott describing the Switzerland international as being 'all over the place'.
Lichtsteiner endured a difficult afternoon at the Etihad Stadium and especially struggled for City's goal, with Alex Iwobi, who was operating in front of him on the right wing, also at fault as Sergio Aguero scored his second goal of the game.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Scott said: 'Lichtsteiner is all over the place, he doesn't know whether to close the player down. Him and Iwobi are getting popped around down that side.'
Lichtsteiner joined Arsenal on a free transfer last summer after leaving Juventus in what was widely seen as a smart signing at the time.
However, it has proven to be anything but, with the 35-year-old having struggled to adapt to the pace and intensity of English football.
With regular right-back Hector Bellerin having been ruled out for six to nine months with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, Lichtsteiner could see plenty of playing time between now and the end of the season.
However, many of his performances for Arsenal this season have not been of the required quality.
Iwobi, meanwhile, attempted to get back and support the defence but held onto the ball for too long in the build-up to City's opening goal.
Alex Scott is an English former footballer who mostly played as a right-back for Arsenal Women and made more than 150 appearances for the team.
She made 140 appearances for the English national team and also represented Great Britain at the 2012 London Olympics.

I have no reason to blame lichsteiner...the fault lies on Unai playing him... nonsense

I don't understand the vision and mission of arsenal anymore. It seems like as long as they participate. Look at our substitution who is there can come and make a change? The whole team is just useless.
