Arsenal ace Ozil 'to wait out' Emery before considering MLS transfer

Mesut Ozil is reportedly prepared to dig his heels in at Arsenal and 'wait out' Unai Emery rather than a seek a transfer - amid speculation the midfielder could move to the MLS.

Ozil has been frozen out by Emery, but will wait to see whether the Arsenal boss lasts beyond the end of this season before deciding on his future.

The midfielder is Arsenal's highest-paid player on £350,000 a week, but has started only two games this season and has not featured in the squad at all since the middle of September.

Many Gunners fans are calling for Ozil to be recalled to the team for Sunday's Premier clash at home to Crystal Palace , and supporters defiantly chanted his name as they watched two poor performances over the past week.

Ozil was left out of the squad for both the defeat to Sheffield United on Monday and the Europa League slog against Vitoria on Thursday.

And Emery appears unprepared to budge on his stance on the former Germany international.

According to the Bleacher Report , sources close to Ozil believe that if he does move, Major League Soccer will be his most likely detsination.

However, the publication claims that Ozil will bide his time and see whether Emery makes it to a third season in charge of Arsenal.

The manager led Arsenal to a fifth-placed finish and the Europa League final last term, while they are currently fifth in the Premier League table this season and top of their Europa League group.

But his Gunners team have been criticised for familiar failings in defence and in terms of closing out games.

And the Bleacher Report claims Ozil believes there is a chance Emery could leave Arsenal before he does - which would potentially mean a new manager giving the 30-year-old the chance to start again from a clean slate.
