Saka returns to training
Arsenal have received a massive boost ahead of the return of the Premier League season with Bukayo Saka returning from his extended holiday after his participation with England at the European Championships.
Arsenal posted to their social feed images of the young England international training.
There was also a very touching video of Saka approaching a large collage of messages and gifts sent from Arsenal fans in support of the young 19-year old winger after the abuse he suffered as a result of the penalty miss in to Euro 2020 final.
Could he start vs Brentford?
The question now will be could Saka be involved in the opening Premier League fixture a week on Friday?
Mikel Arteta offered little clue after the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in a preseason friendly.
“He’s back very soon. He needed some holidays, he needed to be away. He had an incredibly busy year and he will be back with us in the next few days. We’re looking forward to seeing him,” said the Spaniard.
Ben White was also involved with the England team, has since signed for Arsenal and played a preseason friendly for the Gunners. However, the difference being Saka was much more heavily involved and was in greater need of recovery.
However, considering how quickly White has integrated into training and preseason, it is not beyond comprehension that Saka could be fit for the Brentford match.
Arteta does have plenty of options though with Nicolas Pepe, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Reiss Nelson, Willian and Emile Smith-Rowe who can play in wider positions.
