Arsenal celebrated St Totteringham's Day for the first time in sevens seasons as the Gunners drew 3-3 with Southampton at the Emirates Stadium.
Spurs have finished above their bitter rivals in the Premier League standings since the 2015/16 season.
However, the win leaves Mikel Arteta's side 22 points ahead of Spurs, meaning Tottenham can no longer mathematically finish above Arsenal.
Should Tottenham win all of their remaining games, Cristian Stellini's men can only finish on 74 points.
It is believed that the concept was introduced in 2002 when it appeared on the Arsenal fan website 'Arseweb.' However, it did not become well-known until 2010.
Since then, the term 'St Totteringham's Day' has been commonly used in relation to the north London rivalry.
In 2016, Arsenal finished second after their 4-0 win in the final game of the season against Aston Villa.
On the same day, Spurs needed a win to ensure that they would finish above Arsene Wenger's side.
However, they would go on to lose 5-1 at Newcastle and ended up finishing in third, one point behind the Gunners.
Arsenal also secured their place in next season's Champions League with a win against the Saints.

Start this team against Man City, and believe me the bench will be hot on second half . Martineli for Jesus 65, Nelson for Saka 75, jorgehno/ziyencheko for Xhaka 75 , holding for saliba 85 and Smith Row/Nketia for Trossad 85
