Arsenal face Man City competition 'in pursuit of Strasbourg defender Kenny Lala'

Manchester City have joined Premier League rivals Arsenal in the pursuit to sign Strasbourg defender Kenny Lala this summer.

The 27-year-old right-back has impressed in Ligue 1 this campaign and his performances have reportedly alerted the attention of top-flight clubs.

Arsenal have been leading the chase, having seen first-choice right-back Hector Bellerin suffer a season-ending injury earlier this season.

But, according to Le10 Sport, the Gunenrs’ top-flight opponents City are also keeping tabs on his situation in France.

Though the Etihad club are yet to make a formal offer, they have watched him regularly this season and have seemingly been impressed.

City boss Pep Guardiola is keen to bolster his defensive ranks this summer and wants to sign a new right-back as competition for Kyle Walker.

Newcastle are another English club keen on signing the highly-rated defender, while Italian side Lazio have previously been linked with a move.

It is claimed that Lala, who is under contract with the French club until 2021, is valued at around £13million by Strasbourg.

Lala has impressed since arriving at the club from fellow French side Lens in 2017, becoming an integral part of the set up at Stade de la Meinau.

He has made 35 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring four goals and providing a whopping 10 assists.
