Arsenal transfer news: Jurrien Timber has been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, with reports of an agreement over a deal

football.london understands that the Gunners are keen to bolster their options in defence this summer, with interest held in Timber and talks progressing. The north London outfit had a £30million bid rejected last week for the 22-year-old, but another offer is still in discussions.

In total, with a move for Timber likely to be in the £40million region, it would take Arsenal's summer transfer spend up to the £200million mark. It represents the type of ambition to get the side closer to their rivals in winning trophies and the league title in the near future.

While there had been talk of an agreed deal for Timber, it may be some time before a medical is booked as Romano claims there isn't currently one scheduled. That's because there are some final details to work on, however the discussions appear to be moving towards completion.

It remains to be seen how far the three additions can take Arsenal in the coming season and beyond, however there will be plenty of expectation after a huge outlay.
