An Arsenal fan appears to make an anti-Semitic gesture towards Tottenham supporters in a newly emerged video from their Carabao Cup clash.
The clip of the home supporters was filmed by a Tottenham fan during their 2-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.
In the video, while most fans are watching the game and not involved in any wrong-doing, various Arsenal fans insult their rivals, and one is seen tugging and pulling at his nose, as well as laughing and swearing at the people filming.
The gesture, based on the stereotype of Jewish people having large noses, would appear to be the latest case of anti-Semitism to blight English football.
Chelsea fans were criticised - including in a strongly worded statement by their own club - after some supporters sang anti-Semitic chants during a Europa League game away to MOL Vidi.
Later in the video - taken at the dividing point between home and away fans in the stadium - an Arsenal fan is seen to spit at a Tottenham supporter.
It adds further controversy to this North London derby, following an incident where Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli was hit by a plastic bottle thrown from the crowd.
Arsenal have issued a statement about the bottle thrower, promising severe sanctions once the culprit is identified.
They said: 'We have all been embarrassed by the individual who threw a bottle at Dele Alli during Wednesday night's match against Tottenham Hotspur.
'Behaviour of this type has no place at Emirates Stadium and after analysing CCTV footage, which showed him leaving the stadium after throwing the bottle, we have identified an image of the suspect.
'We are liaising with the Metropolitan Police and investigations continue in order to apprehend the culprit.
'We are not responsible for the actions of one individual, but send our apologies to Dele Alli and everyone at Tottenham Hotspur for this incident. We do not tolerate any anti-social, discriminatory or violent behaviour at Arsenal Football Club.
'Anyone identified will receive a lengthy club ban and their details will be passed to the police to commence legal proceedings.'

True this is not good and a massive disrespect to others but football has been like this for ever. Can't remember going to a game and not hearing all sort of rubbish being said.
That doesn't make it right

Football is a tribal game with banter and bragging rights. To stop the banter would seriously damage the popularity of the game. If it ain't broke .....
So does spitting and racism classify as banter?

Bit deflating for those of us who thought it was only 'those of a certain generation' who were doing this stuff.

If nose touching is equated with antisemitism, then this problem has exploded exponentially throughout the world

It's been happening for many many years, why is everyone all of a sudden offended and wanting people prosecuted, I'm not saying it's right, but it's not just happened over night

You're going to need to have more than photo of a guy holding his nose to convict him of a racially aggravated crime.

This sort of thing is happening in every ground by a small minority of hooligans who tar the good name of genuine fans. Life bans, name and shame and tough sentances is all we can do.

Facial recognition is alive and well and is already being successfully used in crowd events. These 'fans' will soon be ID'd in seconds and banned.

If they are to prosecute, then they have a lot of video evidence to sort through. Going back to when matches were first televised eh,

Just play the game behind closed doors so no one can get offended and everyone who gets upset over nothing will be happy

Are we really now going to review footage of all fans looking for any tiny little thing that might be naughty or offensive. Pathetic

New rules to football fans 1 don't eat fruit at games 2 don't call someone a manc might get misinterpreted 3 don't get a picture took with a flag hours before a game 4 don't sing songs that might upset fans from another club and finally don't touch face while watching a game

This rubbish has to stop. Football is meant to bring us together irrespective of race, religion, size et cetera and not tear us apart
