Arsenal fans are getting excited for the arrival of Caglar Soyuncu after the defender's recent comments.
Head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has long been a fan of the Freiburg star, who is also reported to have caught the eye of Manchester United, Manchester City and Atletico Madrid.
But the 21-year-old has now confirmed that the Gunners are looking to possibly bring him to the Emirates this summer, report football.london.
The centre-back is currently away with the Turkish national team and, speaking to the Turkish media, he stated that his future will be sorted once he returns to Germany following the game against Russia on June 5.
“Arsenal are one of the most important clubs in England,” he said. “I know they’re interested in me, but there’s nothing finalized yet about my transfer.
“After the national team camp we’ll have talks.”
Soyuncu's comments have caused quite a stir amongst Arsenal fans, with many excited about the prospect of landing one of the Bundesliga's most highly-rated defenders.
But there are also plenty that believe the club should be focusing on more experienced targets this summer, considering Unai Emery already has several young centre-backs in his squad, such as Rob Holding, Calum Chambers and Konstantinos Mavropanos.

Mertesacker has retired & is now a coach... Koscienly is 32 (turn last 33 in September) & out till probably next year (after Christmas definitely)... we're left with Chambers, Holding, Mavropanos & "Mustafi", the later for me, needs to either leave or have a mentality reboot. Çaglar is a "hot prospect" he's 'calculating, confident & decisive'. Honestly, you could watch videos on YouTube, I'm not hyping him. & if we get Sokratis (ruthless & aggressive but not reckless something we've missed for over a decade & would mentor the young ones) to play along side him I'm good. And the also let's face it, we're not going to sign a 5 star CB, we have to build. But, We definitely need 2 CB's
