Manchester City defeated Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates this afternoon and despite not taking to the pitch, Mikel Arteta was always going to be a big talking point.
Arteta is not only a former Arsenal player but an assistant at City who has been heavily linked with the vacant permanent manager position at the Gunners.
The Spaniard watched on this afternoon as his current team built up an unassailable half-time lead thanks to a brace from Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling's goal before winning the game 3-0.
It left Arsenal fans in somewhat despair after seeing how far away their side is from a Man City team who have not been that impressive this season in the Premier League after back to back domestic titles.
But the biggest issue that Arsenal fans were commenting on post-match was Arteta and what he will be thinking amid those Arsenal next manager rumours.
Freddie Ljungberg took over from Unai Emery in November after the latter was sacked by the club. Whilst Ljungberg has enjoyed some brief good moments, Sunday showed the work that has to be done at Arsenal and why they need a more experienced manager to come in.
Most Arsenal fans, though, were left making the same joke about how Arteta will probably be ruling himself out of the race to replace Emery after watching the Gunners in the capital.

Are we getting Saliba next season or is he already gone? Did the buy went through but we just loaned him back to France?
At the rate that we are going. I am beginning wonder if he regret signing for us.

Brave, bright and courageous people who want to stamp their mark in the football history must take on this Arsenal project.... Not those who want to live off someone else's success... So i think the job should be Mikel Arteta's to loose. Be bold and brave to take it on as a challenge. Who knows he might end up greater than Pep.

I have always said this thing even tho emery got it wrong by selling iwobi it’s never is fault as he got sacked Those players are not good enough and arsenal recruitment is the worst how can you buy only outfield Player when we needed a strong midfielder to help the defense then he waited till the last day to buy luiz. We have lackluster players they don’t care when they score arsenal they just look at one another and play ok no motivation no morale nothing
I wonder if you have seen how iwobi playing at Everton he is the worse player there he can't even run Everton conceed a goal at Man u because of him don't talk nonsense

Not a chance he is better with city learning from the great coach than to take on a shambles of a team.

Hmmm no one will ever want to coach this present team The major issue is not base on the type of team he's gonna start with instead the concern lies with the fact that he won't get the money needed to buy in quality players to build up a new team So how would anyone ever wanted such team
Very true.. kroenke is the scurge of our club..

lts so sad watching arsenal been humiliated by man-city again. The fact is that there is no commitment, besides the issue of the manager. I fault the management who have waited this long to put in place a plan of commitment that could have boost the players morale.
