Gunners supporters have accused official of making 'massive mistakes' in the past and even tried to get him banned
Arsenal fans are not happy after Mike Dean was announced as the referee for this weekend’s North London derby.
Gunners supporters were left open-mouthed as their perceived enemy was put in charge of the upcoming Premier League clash against fierce rivals Tottenham.
Dean has been accused by Arsenal fans of making “massive mistakes” in previous outings and famously "celebrated" a Tottenham goal scored against Aston Villa.
And an official government petition by Gooners in 2015 saw them try to ban Dean from refereeing their games in the future.
In 2017 he was demoted from Premier League matches after a string of high-profile errors.
However, Dean and Arsenal are now set for an epic reunion this weekend, and things could get interesting if some decisions go against Unai Emery’s men.
One fan wrote: “Lifelong Tottenham supporter Mike Dean will officiate this weekend’s North London derby.”
Another said: “Mike Dean will officiate the North London Derby this weekend. Can we just hand Tottenham the win now?”
One tweeted: “Referee for Arsenal vs Spurs is Mike Dean. Again? Seriously???”
Another noted: “Mike Dean reffing the #NLD. The FA is a joke.”
One added: “Mike Dean for the NLD on Sunday? How does he keep getting these games??”

Mike Dean has only had us twice in the last year. 31/12-2017. Invented a penalty for West Brom to draw in the final minutes of the match. 26/09-2018: Against Brentford. Iwobi got clattered in the box. Dean gave nothing. WITH VAR AVAILABLE!

It's just a reason for Arsenal fans to complain if they lose. It's either the referee fault or "Arsenal were the better team" for every loss. Arsenal games should just not have refs period since their fans almost always domain about one..... Maybe Mike Dean got a prejudice against Arsenal but what about all the other refs that they complain about. The whole ref community hates Arsenal according to Arsenal fans smh. We didn't get a pen against spurs either, don't see us crying in a corner about it lol.
