Manchester City fans were not the only set of supporters celebrating on Thursday night after Liverpool were beaten for the first time in the Premier League this season.

The Reds fell to a 2-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium which saw City reduce the gap at the top of the table to just four points.

City's win boosted their bid to become the first team to successfully defend a Premier League title since 2009. It also ensured that Arsenal's status as the only club to go through an entire Premier League season without losing a game will remain intact for at least another year.

Arsenal were champions of England in 2004 after winning 26 and drawing 12 of their league games.

That glorious campaign saw Arsene Wenger's famous team dubbed 'The Invincibles'.

Arsenal have not won the League since their unbeaten 2003-04 campaign but that has not stopped some of their fans celebrating each year since then.

Every time each team has tasted defeat at least once in a Premier League season, a group of Gunners supporters toast 'Invincibles Day' — an event which celebrates that their club's famous achievement cannot be replicated.

After Liverpool became the 20th and last top-flight team to lose a League game this term, ArsenalFanTV tweeted a video of a fan called Ty dancing in the street while chanting 'Invincibles'.

Another Gunners account quipped: 'I'd love to think Arsene Wenger is sitting at home in a big plush chair stroking the gold Invincibles trophy like a Bond villain...'

'There is only one Invincibles', read another tweet, which was accompanied by a picture of a bubble, emblazoned with the Liverpool club crest, bursting.

Arsenal are 13 points behind leaders Liverpool in the Premier League table after 21 rounds of fixtures.
