Arsenal have a number of injury concerns ahead of their Premier League clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with Mikel Arteta providing updates on several players.

Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal squad have had a successful week - securing three crucial points in both the Premier League and Champions League. Last weekend saw the Gunners triumph 4-1 over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby, followed by a solid 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Those victories mean the Gunners sit at the top of the table in both competitions. It's now about staying there.

Arsenal are ready to return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon as they play against second-placed Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Currently, there is a six-point gap between the two teams in the league standings.

However, the hectic week and upcoming festive fixture congestion can strain even the best squads - and Arsenal are no exception with several injury concerns. Mikel Arteta has given the latest update on injuries in his pre-match presser, so here's the latest from the treatment room at the Emirates Stadium;

Leandro Trossard

Injury: Muscle

The Belgian was forced to leave the pitch during the first half of the midweek Champions League match against Bayern Munich due to a calf issue.

What Arteta has said: "With Leo, there is another test today - we'll have to see how he's feeling - and it doesn't look like much, so we still have a few hours, and we'll have to wait and see."

When questioned about Trossard's availability against Chelsea, he said: "There is a potential chance, yeah."

Potential return date: November 30 vs Chelsea (A)

Gabriel

Injury: Thigh

The defender picked up the injury while on international duty with Brazil, which has in turn resulted in him missing the last two matches.

What Arteta has said: "I think he's evolving really, really well. We have to wait for the scan a little bit longer to be more precise in terms of the timings.

"I'm quite confident, especially the way Gabi takes every injury and the way he's going to push everybody that it's not going to be that long."

When asked if Arsenal fans might see Gabriel back before the year ends, Arteta added: "I don't know. We will have to wait and see."

Potential return date: Early January

Viktor Gyokeres

Injury: Muscle

The striker has been side-lined since the 2-0 victory over Burnley at the beginning of the month.

What Arteta has said: "In the next few days, they're going to have a repeat scan to see how everything is and where we can push them for the weekend."

Potential return date: November 30 vs Chelsea (A)

Gabriel Jesus

Injury: Knee

Arteta confirmed that the striker has participated in a behind-closed-doors friendly as part of his recovery from a serious knee injury.

What Arteta has said: "Obviously, he's been out 11 months, and you need that progression. You need to see how his body reacts and so what else does he need. The players that we have available as well. It has to make sense to have the right balance in the squad. It's a good thing he's very, very close at the moment."

Potential return date: December

Kai Havertz

Injury: Knee

Like Gyokeres, Havertz is also nearing a return after undergoing a repeat scan.

What Arteta has said: "They are getting closer and closer. We are very positive with both of them and that's it."

Potential return date: November 30 vs Chelsea (A)
