Arsenal legend Lehmann selling £10.7m villa after his wife found a new partner

Jens Lehmann wants to sell his £10.7million villa in Germany after reportedly splitting up with his wife amid ongoing troubles in his private life.

The former Arsenal goalkeeper, who won the Premier League in 2004 under Arsene Wenger, has reportedly separated from his 52-year-old wife Conny, who no longer lives at the property after finding a new younger partner.

The couple, who officially tied the knot in 1999, are believed to have been in an on-off relationship for some time, with Lehmann, 55, remaining in the family home with their children Mats, 24, and Lieselotta, 18. The German has also adopted Conny's child from her time with former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Knut Reinhardt.

A Munich estate agent has advertised Lehmann's 'spectacular villa' for sale, listing the property for 12.9m euros (£10.7m).

The villa has six bedrooms and six bathrooms across three floors, with a lift connecting the 633 square metres of living space.

With a view overlooking Munich's Lake Starnberg, the property is described as having 'extremely representative, light and sun-drenched rooms' and boasts an indoor swimming pool, sauna and fitness suite.

Reports of Lehmann's split with Conny came to surface at Oktoberfest in September, when she was reportedly seen with friends while he was pictured having fun with several young women in a separate area.

The 55-year-old former goalkeeper was then arrested for drink driving and forced to hand over his driving licence, according to Bild.

Lehmann's neighbours are said to be delighted by his decision to sell the £10.7m villa, with one source telling the German outlet: 'To get on bad terms with all of your neighbours is a world-class achievement. No one here is shedding a tear for him

'His wife is no longer here. The house has probably become too big for him now.'

The German angered his neighbours after attacking one of their garages with a chainsaw in 2022 - and was fined £112,500 in September after being found guilty of property damage and attempted fraud by a German court.

Lehmann's decision to sell the property is believed to be linked with his separation from Conny after 25 years, rather than any falling out with neighbours.

A friend close to the former footballer told the German newspaper: 'Jens acts as if everything is fine on the outside. But both of them have long been living their own lives. As soon as everything is sorted out with the house, they will get a divorce.'

Lehmann and Conny did go on holiday as a family last summer, but it is believed the vacation was for the benefit of the children rather than any romantic feelings between the pair.

Breaking silence after his drink driving arrest in September, when he was pulled over in lederhosen by a police patrol in the Munich district of Sendling while under the influence, Lehmann admitted in November: 'The truth was that I made a mistake because I thought I could drive. That wasn't the case. I had 0.7 per mille.

'It was not a good move on my part and I regret it. I misjudged myself and drove two hours after the incident.

'If you have a blood alcohol level of 0.7 per mille, your driving licence will be revoked for four weeks. And that's the way it should be.

'It was sometimes portrayed as if I had been totally drunk, which was not the case at all. There is a follow-up to this. We'll see.'
