Arsenal loanee Lucas Torreira plays on after losing his front tooth in a NASTY injury

Lucas Torreira enjoyed an eventful game in Fiorentina's 1-1 draw with Inter Milan in the Serie A as he scored and broken his tooth.

The Arsenal loanee had opened the scoring for his team at San Siro but later received a knock to the face, returning to the pitch with a big ball of cotton wool in his mouth.

The Uruguayan battled on despite the horror injury to play the entire 90 minutes, and even found time to laugh about it after the game.

The midfielder was caught in the face during an aerial collision midway through the match but it did not look serious enough to receive extensive treatment.

The 26-year-old appeared to yank it out himself and ran over to the touchline to hand his tooth over to the kitman before taking another cotton swab to stick in his mouth.

He was clearly in good spirits after the hard fought draw, taking to Twitter to show off his injury, when called upon for doping testing after the game.

Torreira has impressed in his 25 league games for Fiorentina, contributing four goals.

Incredibly, despite being known for his defensive skills, Torreira is currently the joint-top scorer at Fiorentina now Dusan Vlahovic has left for Juventus.

His latest strike against Inter was a real poacher’s effort, drifting into the box to fire Nicolas Gonzalez’s pull-back into the roof of the net.

It has previously been reported that Fiorentina are so pleased with Torreira, they are keen to activate the £12.5million option to buy in his loan deal.
