Arsenal have made a decision on whether to take Dani Ceballos on loan for a second time next season, according to reports in Spain.
Ceballos impressed in his first few matches after joining the Gunners in a temporary switch from Real Madrid last summer - before suffering a hamstring injury in November which sidelined him for three months.
After returning from injury he worked his way back into Mikel Arteta's team, and started the last three fixtures before the coronavirus pandemic brought the season to a halt.
But Arsenal have no plans to request a second loan spell for the attacking midfielder, according to Spanish publication El Confidencial.
While the 23-year-old's loan agreement is due to end on June 30, it is believed the Gunners will ask Madrid whether they can retain Ceballos until the end of this season - if the campaign is allowed to restart.
The UK government has given the go-ahead for the Premier League to resume behind closed doors no earlier than June 1, but there are a number off issues to be ironed out - including that of the safety of players and their families.
Once the season is over, it looks as though Ceballos will fight for his future at Madrid.
El Confidencial reports that there is no option to buy in the Spain international's loan agreement with Arsenal, while Ceballos appears to have rebuffed the notion of joining Sevilla to be reunited with former boss Julen Lopetegui.
After joining Madrid from Real Betis in 2017, Ceballos initially struggled under Zinedine Zidane but enjoyed a decent spell after Lopetegui became manager in 2018.
However, with Zidane now back in charge of Los Blancos, Ceballos appears to have work to do to convince the manager.
Not so with Unai Emery, the man who brought him to Arsenal.
The former Gunners boss has backed Ceballos to thrive if the Premier League season does return, saying: "Dani is a player who has excellent qualities and an incredible mentality: he wants to succeed.
Emery added: "When the league resumes, he will certainly demonstrate his qualities again."

As for me, he as the quality to be a great player, he is a fantastic player when you give a free role to operate, in his last 2-3 matches before the lockdown he showed what to expect, he dictated well while playing from deep role, he played with both feet, better than Ozil and Xhaka that rely on one leg, it will be a good business if they can secure a permanent deal.
