Here is your morning Arsenal digest on Thursday, June 22.

Simons buyback

PSV starlet Xavi Simons has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent times but French giants Paris Saint-Germain have the opportunity to bring the Dutchman back to Ligue 1 for just £5.2million next month.

That is according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who wrote on Twitter: "EXCL: Paris Saint-Germain buy back clause for Xavi Simons is just €6m! It can only be activated in July, from 1 to 31st.

"The final decision is ONLY up to the player. He’s waiting to hear from PSG. Man Utd, Arsenal, Brighton, Spurs, BVB and Leipzig asked to be informed."

Havertz agreement

Arsenal are close to an agreement to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea, according to the Athletic.

Their report claims that the proposed deal would cost Mikel Arteta's side around £65million. The Gunners are said to be looking to finalise the structure of the move, including possible instalments and add-ons whilst personal terms have already been agreed upon.

Havertz, who joined the Blues three years ago, will then undergo a medical with the Gunners if everything else goes to plan.

Timber boost

As per Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, Ajax defender Jurrien Timber has attracted interest from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in recent times.

However, it is claimed that Timber would favour to join Arsenal instead, having seen compatriots Noussair Mazraoui, Ryan Gravenberch and Daley Blind all struggle for game time after joining Bayern.
