Mesut Ozil's Arsenal nightmare could soon be coming to an end amid reports that the German outcast could seek pastures new across the Atlantic.
The World Cup winner has been a notable absentee for much of Arsenal's season, having been in the matchday squad on just four occasions, and was last night excluded from the squad that came from behind to beat Vitoria 3-2 at the Emirates.
As such, Ozil's future in north London remains doubtful and the 31-year-old could make a surprise move to the MLS in order to gain regular first team football.
According to the Bleacher Report, those close to the player are trying to convince him to force an Arsenal exit through, with the big money on offer in Major League Soccer an appealing proposition.
LA Galaxy could offer a new home for the German, with reports suggesting that Zlatan Ibrahimovic could leave the club in the New Year.
Should the Swede leave the Galaxy, the five-time MLS champions' wage bill will free up considerably to provide funds to secure Ozil's services.
However, the player himself is torn as to where he sees his future. Ozil has gone on the record to say he wishes to see out his £350,000-per-week deal, which runs until 2021, and he is said to still enjoy being at Arsenal and is happy in north London.
During last night's tense game in the Europa League, Arsenal fans were heard shouting Ozil's name while Unai Emery's side were behind against their Portuguese opponents. Indicating that should the midfield star make his way back into the first team fold, he will be welcomed by Arsenal supporters.

Most people are saying Emery should leave instead, but looking at the profile of the next possible coaches, Allegri preferred workaholics in midfield when he was at Juventus, the weakest midfielder he ever played was Andrea Pirlo and he's still works harder than Özil... Arteta is coming from a City team based on press and counterpress, is that Özil's skillset? Noo... Ten Haag prefers a midfield that's technical, which Özil would love, but in the spirit of Cruyff, everyone must grind when they lose the ball at Ajax, is Özil this kind of player? I'm not sure... even with another coach, Özil's Arsenal future is still bleak, I hope we move on completely from this shitshow every week... win, lose or draw, u can be sure it's Özil they want to talk about, like he's the best thing that ever happened to football, like we've not seen him enough for the past 5yrs... Bugs me!
