How Mikel Arteta's side got on individually in the Gunners Premier League clash with the Eagles at Selhurst Park
Aaron Ramsdale: His first game since David Raya has come in went OK. Good on the ball for the most part and dealt with a few dangerous looking crosses commandingly. 6.
Thomas Partey: It's clear what Arteta is trying to do by using the Ghanaian at right back but you just wonder what you're losing with him away from the midfield. Partey can't really be blamed for that though and inverted well. 6.
Ben White: Coped well with Palace in transition. Decent on the ball too. A solid performance from the England defender. 6.
William Saliba: Some really good defending in transition, particularly to stop Jordan Ayew on the counter. Good on the ball as ever, and when Arsenal had to drop deep after the red card he coped well. 7
Takehiro Tomiyasu: Was doing OK after being chosen as Jurrien Timber's replacement. Not as good on the ball as the Dutchman but doing a decent job. Harshly sent off for what looked a soft second yellow. 6.
Declan Rice: Probably his best performance in an Arsenal shirt so far. Won the ball high up constantly and switched play well to help the Gunners retain dominance early on. Then defended well after the red. 7.
Martin Odegaard: Now seems to be the designated penalty taker and took his spot kick well. Decent on the ball if not spectacular early on. Helped Arsenal set the tempo when they had 11 men. 6.
Kai Havertz: A frustrating night for the German. Couldn't really impact the play and the game seemed to slow a little when it came to him. He's a talented player but seems to be taking a little while to get used to this left eight role. Not much of a focal point when moved up front late on either. 5.
Bukayo Saka: A threat as ever down the right hand side but found himself largely crowded out. Switched back to the left back position he's not played for a while after the red card and coped pretty well. 6.
Eddie Nketiah: His quick thinking to combine well with Gabriel Martinelli ultimately put Arsenal in front. Had been wasteful in front of goal up until that point and should have had at least one go in. 6.
Gabriel Martinelli: Clearly frustrated with how little he was used in the first half despite getting in good positions. His speed of thought created the penalty. 6.
SUBSTITUTES
Gabriel: A surprise to see him out of the starting line up but just the man Arsenal would have wanted to introduce after they went down to ten men. Good defending and leadership to help secure the three points. 6.
Jorginho: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
Jakub Kiwior: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
Oleksandr Zinchenko: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
