Gabriel Jesus has claimed Arsenal are still well in the fight for the Premier League title but that they have hit a difficult period following a 3-3 draw with Southampton.
The Gunners impressed to score two late goals and salvage a point on Friday evening at the Emirates Stadium but the result was a damaging one for their title aspirations.
Although they are now five points clear of City, the Premier League champions now have two games in hand and will be boosted by Arsenal's failure to defeat a side rock bottom of the Premier League table at home.
The striker admitted the result was tough to take given the Gunners have now failed to win their last three games, handing the initiative to City in the battle at the summit.
'A lot of things is going on now,' Gabriel told Sky. 'We don't want to come here and talk negative because we are very positive, what we are doing this season is amazing. The Premier League is tough.'
'We are the youngest team in the league, not making excuses. Sometimes we do right and sometimes we do wrong, everyone can make mistakes that is why it is so important to stick together.
Despite the set-back, the Gunners still have the title race in their hands, as their next fixture involves visiting City where a win would put them eight points clear and back in control.
Gabriel Jesus, a summer arrival from the Etihad Stadium, claims his side will not fear the challenge.
'Now is the difficult moment. It is time now to stick together until the end. We still have a lot of things to do this season, it is not over, we are still five points clear. Manchester City have two games in hand but if we want to be champions we have to go there to win the game - that is all.
'Everything can happen. Obviously we are not happy with the last three games, we dropped points and we know this is true, no one has to tell us. We dropped a little bit of our level and focus, this is the Premier League, it is so difficult to win this competition.
'We are still there, we are still fighting and we will fight until the end.'
Jamie Carragher believes Arsenal will need a 'miraculous' end to the season if they are to pip City to the Premier League crown.
'Whether the point makes that much difference to Arsenal, I'm not quite sure,' he said.
'They've probably got to go to Man City and get three points if they want to go on and win the league.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Gary Neville added that the fixture next Wednesday night is huge.
'Arsenal got back in the game, and they got a point out of it. The players have got to pick themselves up for the game of their lives at the Etihad.
'It's not the result they would have wanted before the game, but it is better than they could have hoped for with five or 10 minutes to go.
'They are still alive. It's not over yet and still in Arsenal's hands but they have the huge task of going to the powerhouse that is Manchester City on Wednesday.'

ONE POINT CAN WIN THE LEAGUE....THIS SEASON MORE INTERESTING THAN LADT SEASON
It was the same thing that happened last season. City won different one point only and it was so interesting just that you were not competing.

If Jesus is still leading our attack, we are far from winning
You didn't say this when he helped you in your winning run

Forget the title and just start preparing for next season with these remaining fixtures we have. we have lost six points in three games instead of getting at least a minimum of Five points and we expect to beat an inform Manchester city with a very good and experienced coach...how can we beat man city at etihad to collect maximum three points there when we failed to collect maximum points at an field and London stadiums in games we comfortably led by two goals but still fail to win? Every arsenal player must accept the reality that we lost the league at those two away games we gave away after leading by two goals. That's where we lost it
Is this a joke 😡, so you guys have stopped noise pollution (bragging) just like that 🤣🤣🤣🤣

City no longer really need to beat Arsenal now. A draw will be good enough too. The pressure is off Manchester City and back to Arsenal and City will play well and Arsenal will choke like they did yesterday.

Man city will beat you and then win the EPL league . But the worse thing about arsenal is that they lead the league for almost the entire season and rite at the finishing line they falter and fail to win a trophy for all that they of done this season is a big big disgusting shame
