Arsenal will turn their focus to the summer transfer window after coming up short in their bid to make the Champions League final at the expense of Paris Saint-Germain
Mikel Arteta will be backed in the transfer market with a big summer spend to turn Arsenal into winners.
The Gunners hierarchy are ready to launch a major squad overhaul after Arsenal missed out on major silverware again with the end of their Champions League campaign. Arsenal crashed out to Paris Saint Germain at the semi final stage and Arteta has now gone five years without a trophy after going close in the title race in the past two seasons.
But Arsenal have identified up to FOUR major signings this summer as they look to strengthen with a huge show of faith in Arteta. But it will also mean several departures after they came up short this season.
Their No1 priority is a centre forward with Arteta a huge admirer of Newcastle’s Alexander Isak but more realistic targets are Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres - who is admired by Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta - and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.
They tried to get Sesko last summer, he opted to stay in Germany for another year and Arsenal paid a heavy price for not signing a striker with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus getting long term injuries this season.
Arsenal know they must land a striker this time and they also have a left winger in their sights as they have Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams on their radar while they believe a deal is in place to sign Real Sociedad’s Spain midfielder Martin Zubimendi for £51m.
Join the debate! Who do you want Arsenal to sign in the summer? Let us know here
There is a serious interest in Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen but would have to offload players to get him in and the centre half - who has a £50m buy-out clause - also has concerns about going to a club where his game time may be limited.
Arsenal have got Thomas Partey, Jorginho and Kieran Tierney out of contract this summer and, while Partey may yet extend, exits would free up scope on the wage bill. They will also offload players with Oleksandr Zinchenko likely to leave while there is Saudi interest in Leandro Trossard who only has a year left on his deal and his departure would pave the way for a new left winger.
Jakub Kiwior had looked set to go but has done well in recent weeks although offloading him could help recruit another defender. Takehiro Tomiyasu’s future is uncertain after a long term injury which will keep him out until the end of 2025.
They also want a new No2 keeper to compete and put pressure on No1 David Raya whose form has fallen badly in recent weeks. They have targeted Espanyol’s Joan Garcia.

You’re stuck in the past… you can’t accept your teams losses. A real fan would learn how to take the loss if his team and the bad form of his, but the fact that you can’t shows to prove that you’re an arrogant person. Don’t speak to me if your team can’t beat the likes of Valencia.

lol all I hear you do is cry, all this teams you mentioned are no where near Madrid when in form, I note that Madrid has been poor this season but do not ever make the mistake of comparing Madrid to this teams you mention, and till you die do not mention Arsenal wherever Real Madrid is being talked about

If you want to succeed, your first signing must be a striker.

Victor Gyokeres , Nico Williams and Zubimendi should be our first targets if we want to win a silver ware next season but there is need for another player in Martin Odegaard's place

Arteta must twist a bit and have some sense to know where the problem lies. This was the same stubborness of Arsene Wenger that got him producing the same results every season.

anytime ARTETA loses a game, he becomes the worse manager etc. this is the same manager that has come second for the past four seasons against the referees and VAR. the problem at Arsenal right now is that they have not learnt the act of bribing the officials like other teams. by August this year, let's start counting how many points arsenal will lose to referees and VAR through dubious calls, Red cards and dubious penalties. before the beginning of every season, the pundits will tell us where arsenal will end and the referees will be working towards that.

Thats bullshit all 5 years in a row reluctance to buy proper strikers now what? as rival teams said Arsenal is not serious club to believe in it 😣

for the next two months or more, they will talk about the transfer without a head way. any transfer that did not include Ademola lookmon and gyokorez is unacceptable. we have suffered enough humiliation in the hands of Jimmy charagha and Garry Nevel.

It is becoming very apparent that the issue at Arsenal is their manager. Tactically, for the build up to a match Artetta is ok, he seems to set the squad out well. However, his 'in game' tactics are amateurish. He cannot seem to react to a change in opposition tactics real-time. When he does, he usually gets it wrong. It's like there are 2 managers. 1 who picks the team prior to a match and another who manages the team during the match. His in-game management is poor. After 5 seasons can Arsenal supporters still be expected to 'trust the process'? I would have my doubts by now.

What’s the point of talking the same sht every season ! When you need a striker , you sign midfielder, defenders ! Seriously the only revamp is to change the damn manager ! I said many years ago, the management had no clue of running a successful football club !

What overhaul are you talking about? Nothing like overhaul because they loose a semi final, get a good striker that can guarantee 30 to 40 goals per season. The players are perfectly okay, just a litle twist in the attacking section

Arsenal owner are not releases money to buy striker goals scoring machines and wingers.150m prems per June July transfer market it's a child played in world football today. Arsenal too stinging. a serious club should release from 500m perms upward to buy good and great players
