Arsenal target Ivan Fresneda was left out of Real Valladolid's squad against Valencia yesterday as he looks to decide between the Gunners and Borussia Dortmund.
Both clubs are said to have agreed a £13million deal for the 18-year-old, with the defender set to be loaned back to Valladolid for the remainder of the season as part of deals.
Fresneda has become a regular fixture in Jose Rojo Martin's side since September, chalking up 12 appearances across all competitions.
Earlier this week the right-back missed training at club's base in the country's north-west, with reports citing he was 'absent with discomfort'.
However, it's believed it's only a matter of days before Fresneda decides whether his future lies in the Premier League or in the Bundesliga - with Dortmund believing they could offer the teenager a clearer career path.
The Gunners are set to let Cedric Soares finalise a deal with Fulham, so a swoop for Fresneda would provide Mikel Arteta with additional long-term options at full-back.
So far in this window Arteta has been able to add Leandro Trossard to his attack after his arrival from Brighton, as well as central defender Jakub Kiwior from Spezia.
They are also keen to go back to the Seagulls in their pursuit for midfielder Moses Cacideo. Arsenal had a £60 million bid turned down by the south coast club last week, but are expected to go back with a new offer.
Especially after the Colombian signalled his intent to leave Brighton by posting a statement on social media where he asked if to 'take up magnificent opportunity'.

The issue of our summer target is another consideration. I think the owners have backed the manager financially in a substantial way in the last couple of years. We spent around £135m in the summer, we’ve spent another £50m in the January window and, despite reporting to the contrary, it’s hard to think that spending another £80m now (on Caicedo) wouldn’t have an impact on summer spending. We have players we can sell this summer who could generate revenue – it’s whether or not that would be sufficient. But, I hear people say, we have a title to win now, and that is absolutely true. The injury scare for Thomas Partey gave everyone chills because of how important he is, and I completely get that. The thing is, maybe what you need to think about if you’re without him is how to rejig your team to cope, rather than seeking a player who can do exactly what he does to the level he does it, because that last part is really difficult. I’d have a similar worry over Bukayo Saka, in that we have players who can play on the right, but none of them can do what he does in terms of quality or consistency. Which almost brings us full circle because if you do think someone like Caicedo is a good fit for the Partey role, then by default that player is going to be really expensive. Do they think he’s a better fit than Declan Rice though? Your guess is as good as mine. Personally, I would prefer the West Ham man, but the chances of him leaving them in January are practically zero, I’d say. Anyway, let’s hope we get something done before the window closes.

Arsenal just need to register interest in a player and the revolt starts. They love Arsenal and non is willing for anyone to stand before they and their first love for some sugar daddy like what happened to Mudryk. Arsenal, a home of love. Emirates, a stadium of peace.

What are Dortmund buying players for, just to have him and sell him with big prize in time to come, because they have nothing more to give to players
