Arsenal to hold talks over increasing transfer budget this summer

Arsenal are holding internal talks about their transfer budget after seeing their opening approach for Wilfried Zaha rejected.

The Gunners saw a £40m offer for winger Zaha dismissed instantly by Crystal Palace earlier this week.

But they have not given up all hope of landing the 26 year-old this window and are exploring ways to try and increase their budget to launch a renewed move for Zaha.

The discussions could result in Arsenal's transfer chiefs making an appeal to owner Stan Kroenke to release more funds.

Arsenal's kitty for this summer is around £40m before player sales, following their failure to qualify for the Champions League, and they are also hoping to land Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney along with a central defender.

So their need for more money is pressing in order to fulfil manager Unai Emery's demands, with Zaha one of this top targets.
