Arsenal are reportedly running the rule over Benfica defender Alex Grimaldo.
A Gunners representative was understood to be in the crowd to watch the full-back in Sunday's 10-0 rout of Nacional, according to Portuguese publication A Bola .
The scout will have been impressed with what he saw as Grimaldo set them on their way to an emphatic win with a goal in the very first minute.
Left-back Grimaldo is being tipped as a long-term replacement for Nacho Monreal, but the 23-year-old has also attracted the attention of Manchester United in the past while Atletico Madrid are in the hunt for his signature.
Ramsey signs pre-contract attention
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has signed a pre-contract agreement with Juventus , the Serie A club have announced.
The 28-year-old has agreed a four-year deal and will officially join the Italian champions on July 1, the day after his Arsenal contract expires.
Confirmation of the move ends considerable speculation over the future of the Wales international, who turned down a new deal at the Emirates Stadium earlier this season.
Juve, however, had long been the favourites for Ramsey's signature despite a host of other top European clubs, including Barcelona , Real Madrid , Paris St Germain and Bayern Munich, being linked.
Ramsey will earn around £400,000 per week following the transfer, for which Arsenal will not be entitled to a fee. He will leave the north London club 11 years after arriving from Cardiff .
Ozil relationship at breaking point
Mesut Ozil is in danger of leaving his relationship with Arsenal at breaking point after his latest cry off.
Incredibly, Ozil has now missed as many games as he has played this season through either illness, a back injury, a knee problem or being left out.
Ozil, 30, who is Arsenal’s biggest earner on £350,000-a-week, reported in sick for Saturday’s win at Huddersfield which will raise concerns as to why he is missing so many games.
World Cup winner Ozil has made 18 appearances in all competitions this season but has struggled badly under Unai Emery’s regime, although the feeling at the club is that the manager is trying everything to try and make it work.

Arsenal can only sign players who are not followed by a big club. If a big club enters the race then then chances are very slim that arsenal will even try to sign that player. Generally this happens with a mid table or relegation threatened club. I don't why Arsenal is still called a premier league giant. There is nothing like giant about Arsenal. They are pathetic. Even Wolves have a better squad than Arsenal and are playing better football than them.
Kkkkkkk at the moment you really right u agree as well and worse there is no Ozil and Xhaka in the midfield

Hope we're not going back to where we used to be? Arsenal will scout players, pursue the players, and the players end up signing for another club. Remember Hazard, Zlatan, CR7, Messi, Mbappe etc etc???

By this rate Arsenal should be a scouting firm hired by other teams so they can buy the players.
