Sunderland will be hoping to pull off a Carabao Cup upset when they travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal in Tuesday's quarter-final.

The Black Cats are taking part in this stage of the competition for the first time since 2013-14, when they finished as runners-up to Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta's men have not lifted this trophy since 1993 but were beaten by Manchester City in the 2018 final.

Sky Sports Main Event is showing Arsenal vs Sunderland live on TV in the United Kingdom (UK) and the game can also be streamed live online using Sky Go.

Pablo Mari and Albert Sambi Lokonga are ruled out after testing positive for Covid-19 before Saturday's 4-1 win at Leeds, while Takehiro Tomiyasu is doubtful due to a knock picked up in that game and Sead Kolasinac is a long-term absentee.

Predicted Arsenal starting XI: Leno; Tavares, Holding, Chambers, Soares; Elneny, Maitland-Niles, Pepe, Smith Rowe, Nketiah; Balogun

Aiden McGeady, Luke O'Nien and Leon Dajaku are all injured, with Dennis Cirkin and Corry Evans also unlikely to feature due to a lack of match fitness.

Predicted Sunderland starting XI: Hoffmann; Wright, Flanagan, Doyle; Hume, Pritchard, Neil, Embleton, Gooch; Stewart, Broadhead

Arsenal is the clear favourite to beat Sunderland at 1/5 (1.20) with bet365. At 14/1 (15.0) to win, Sunderland are considered serious underdogs.

Alexandre Lacazette is 7/2 (4.50) to be first goalscorer, although Eddie Nketiah could offer strong value at 4/1 (5.0) considering he has scored in each of the last two rounds.

Having secured both a victory and a clean sheet in each of their last five games, as well as their three Carabao Cup fixtures so far this season, Arsenal look a strong bet at Evens (2.0) to win to nil against the League One opponents.

With their Premier League campaign starting to shape up nicely, Arsenal will be seeing this competition as an opportunity to deliver the second piece of silverware of the Mikel Arteta era.

Having won nine and lost none of their last 10 home games in all competitions, the Gunners certainly look like deserved favourites when they take on a team currently third in League One.

Lee Johnson's team are currently enjoying a seven-match unbeaten streak of their own in the league, although three of the most recent six fixtures have resulted in draws.

While all four of their League Cup wins so far this season have come on the road, it is hard to see them adding an in-form Arsenal to Port Vale, Blackpool, Wigan and QPR on their list of scalps.
