According to reports from English media outlet Inews, Newcastle United has rejected Arsenal's offer for Guimaraes.
Inews revealed that Arsenal's bid for Guimaraes falls significantly short of Newcastle United's asking price of over £80 million.
However, Arsenal remains in negotiations and is expected to submit a fresh offer for the Newcastle United captain. Guimaraes himself is keen to move to North London.
Unlike the situation with Isak, who resisted joining Newcastle's pre-season tour last year, Guimaraes has not taken such a stand.
Nevertheless, the prospect of Guimaraes departing St. James' Park this summer appears to be strengthening. If he leaves, he would be the third major departure following Tonali and Anthony Gordon.

Why do bids go back and forth? Why not make a phone call, reach an agreement and complete it, or don’t reach an agreement and move on. This seems way more complicated than it needs to be! Not to mention drawn out and frustrating!!!
