Sokratis Papastathopoulos has told Arsenal fans that he is 'working to get back as soon as possible' after injuring his ankle in Friday's 3-1 loss to Manchester United.
The 30-year-old centre back delivered his update via the caption of an Instagram post which included a picture of him sat at home strapped into recovery machine.
The machine, the S1-Portable by PHYSIOLAB, is worth ยฃ4,000 and is billed as 'a portable solution for cooling and compression.'
Sokratis, who was holding his son in the picture, fell awkwardly after an aerial challenge with Jesse Lingard during the first half of Friday's FA Cup defeat.
Gunners manager Unai Emery had initially expressed optimism that Sokratis' injury was not serious after he was replaced by Shkodran Mustafi 21 minutes into the fourth-round match, having appeared to twist his ankle.
But a medical update on Sunday revealed that the Greek defender was not expected to resume training until the end of February, meaning he will miss League games against Cardiff, Manchester City, Huddersfield, Southampton and Bournemouth.
Arsenal are facing something of an injury crisis in defence, with Laurent Koscielny, Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding also sidelined.

Sokratis a massive blow. If only there was a method of using those 100s of millions of pounds we make a year to help us in some way or another. Exhanging them for something, a transaction of some sort... I don't know

4 best defenders at the club out injured, 2 of them for the season. why is it always our players who get absolutely fucked by injuries? what is our medical staff doing wrong/differently? is it the way we train? the way we play? itโs unbelievably frustrating watching the careers of so many Arsenal players stunted by incessant injuries.

Sokratis will be back for last 16 of Europa league at least. Time to blood Mavropanos in, let's hope he's ready.

Glad kos is ok, that looked nasty. Imaging Lukaku stepping on the side of your face ๐คฎ. Kos/Mustafi is a potential comedy sketch waiting to happen though. Given the only organiser we have is out, I don't even think it matters which pairing we have. Would almost rather put mavro/monreal back there for a month. Our quality at depth is frankly shocking.

Mavropanos has gotta start the next game and have monreal as backup on the bench , mustafi will start purely for the fact he's a CB
