Mikel Arteta admits Arsenal’s trip to Chelsea is a must-win clash for their hopes of finishing in the top four.
Arsenal remain mid-table following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Sheffield United and ten points off fourth-placed Chelsea.
Ahead of their visit to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, Arteta said: ‘It's really important. It's very, very important for us to win this game to fight for that.
‘Also, the game we played at home [a 2-1 defeat after being 1-0 up], it could have made a big difference and we were very close to it. Tomorrow we need to win.’
Despite winning just one of their five league games under Arteta the Champions League places are still within reach as Arsenal’s rivals have been equally inconsistent.
Arteta said: ‘Everyone is having a lot of problems to put together back-to-back wins, the league has been very competitive this season and that is why the gaps aren't that big.
‘There are still four months to play and a lot of things can happen, a lot of games between the top teams as well so I think that will change.’

I'm beginning to see Arteta as the perfect man for Arsenal. I like that spirit and I hope he gets that winning mentally and self believe into the heads of his players. Beating Chelsea, home or away is a strong possibility. I fact, Arsenal can beat Live3if they would face the Reds with confidence. Mikel will get Arsenal to go fetch their Soukd they forgot at Highbury.

This must be a joke why still have hopes in top 4? that position has left the chat a long time back, we should be focusing on each game a head and not setting impossible goals we can't reach, that's just additional stress on a group of players who are just starting to perform well after their catastrophe regime under unai stupid, top 4 is not in our reach no matter how inconsistent the other teams are
