Roy Keane has slammed Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea following his error in the first-half of the club's clash at Everton.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave the hosts a 1-0 lead three minutes in after De Gea took too long to clear the ball before his attempt hit the Everton striker and found the back of the net.
It was an horrendous error from the Spanish keeper, who has endured a mixed 2019/20 campaign for the Reds.
Former United captain Keane is in the studio on punditry duties for Sky Sports and he did not hold back at the break with some particularly strong half-time analysis.
"As a manager or a player, you'd kill him," Keane told Sky Sports. "It's crazy goalkeeping.
"He is being too clever. He takes too long. What is he waiting for? He has to make a decision and do it quickly.
"You have got an experienced goalkeeper and what is he waiting for? There is a bit of arrogance there.
"I would have lynched him at half time. I would have had no time for that carry-on. Keepers can make mistakes but there are no excuses for that.
"Sometimes a player doesn't have anywhere to go and you just accept it. As a player you would be having a go at him. Hopefully he will keep a clean sheet in the second half."

De Gea isn't the De Gea of Old. This one looks a bit lost and mad over something. It's affecting his performances.

Indeed we missed players like you Roy in the pitch. Coz in your days you would've slaughtered De Gea even before the manager could recognized his mistakes. Now most of the players are slack, hairdressers, dancers, etc.

At least, De Gea is a better assist giver than Lord Lingard [Crylaugh]

If there's another word more expressible than horrendous or calamitous that's best way to explain De gea' evening of horror , even when it looked like he's returning back to his best , suddenly he let's the team and himself down with such inexplicable howler

I'd like to see Roy coach an actual team... I'd like to see how different he'd be from Jose mourinho when it comes to man management... all you fans supporting him, I hope you had no qualms with mou... if you did, youre just being hypocritical. ddg made a blunder, it can happen, he was rightly pointed out to be arrogant at that but "killing" him wouldn't help because he is still our best keeper and one of the best in the world, although he has significantly dropped, I'd admit. he still has class and he showed that in the last minute with that save in a one on one ... normally as fans, we'd start singing his praise for that but today everyone seems only to remember the blunder, and I can't blame anyone for that. I just feel Mr Roy's response wouldn't be the best at all. I'm sha worried for DDG...
