Aston Villa are planning on offering captain Jack Grealish a new £100,000-a-week contract to stop him joining Manchester United, according to reports.
The 24-year-old midfielder scored the crucial goal to keep his boyhood club in the Premier League on the final day of the season during their 1-1 draw at West Ham.
Grealish has endured a successful campaign for Dean Smith's side in Villa's first season back in the top-flight, with the Red Devils looking to add to the squad that reached finished in the top-four this term.
But according to the Sun, the midfielder could be convinced to stay by Villa's lucrative new contract offer, which is a significantly better deal than his current £70,000-a-week agreement.
The report says Midlands club owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens do not want to let their star captain leave Villa under any circumstances and are hope that this bonus will be enough to keep Grealish where he is.
Sawiris and Edens are reportedly also prepared to inject £100million into the club to bring in three or four quality additions ahead of Villa's second season in the top-flight.
The Sun say that among the list of targets is Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, Brentford midfielder Said Benrahma and young Exeter City teenager Ben Chrisene.
But keeping Grealish at the club is one of the top priorities for Smith, the club's owners and the Villa supporters.
The midfielder has been on the club's books since he was six-years-old and broke into the first-team as a teenager in 2012.
Since then, Grealish has represented his boyhood club 186 times and scored 25 goals.
During the 2019-20 season, Grealish scored eight Premier League goals and added six assists to his goal contributions total, which was enough to keep Villa in England's top division.

Come on mate do you even know football. To be on a side that was close to relegation and produce those numbers are amazing. You have to remember that playing on a worse side means less chances and less likely your teammates will finish chances. Don’t download a football app if you don’t know football🤣
so you're saying he's a world class player? I did say the lad has skills, but how is he worth more than Bruno? He's not worth that much! Perhaps you need some schooling on football yourself. Point is, he isn't worth 80.

So 8 goals and 6 assists values him at £80M? Ridiculous. He has some quality, but the guy isn't world class to be precise.
What the last few comments are not understanding is that hes the focal point of every attack and the output is still average. In 15/16 Barkley was the outlet of every Everton attack created and he got 12 goals and 11 assists in a fairly poor Everton team.

This will be one of the consistent attacking team that Man U can have, plus Pogba and Martial on the bench to rotate the team

Grealish is an attacking minded player why would he be in a CDM pivot 😂

Fitness isnt a issue he covers more ground than the majority of United players...

People are overrating Grealish. Hes the focal point of every attack in a small team. What's he doing different from what Barkley did at Everton the season before he got injured? in fact Barkley had a better return too in 15/16 where he scored 12 and assisted 11 and that Everton team wasnt even that great.

Jack don't worth more than £35million. Anything more than that is economic waste. Ask Arsene Wenger, just called him now! He is the only man with knowledge of prices of every player around the globe.

What are you talking about? Martial has many caps for France while the ovarrated Grealish has 0 for England, which club would buy a for £80m with 0 Capsfor their national team?
That's not how you judge players. You can't judge them based on the number of caps they have for their national team. According to that logic, then Joe Hart is a better goalkeeper than Gordon Banks ever was just because he has more England caps than the legendary Banks lol. You judge them purely by their footballing ability. Grealish is still young, when he was coming up through the ranks at Aston Villa, they were a struggling side in the EPL and when they were relegated, Grealish was yet to establish himself in the team. It was when Aston Villa were in the Championship that Grealish became their best player and eventually, their captain. No matter how well you perform in the championship, it'll be hard to get called up to the England national team because the coach will look for players in better leagues than the championship. He captained and inspired Aston Villa to promotion, a cup final (this season) and now survival. He has 10 goals and 8 assists in all competitions this season backed up by his other impressive numbers. Not bad considering he plays for a struggling side. I said this before and I'll say it again - even de Bruyne, the best attacking midfielder in the world, would look like a glorified Grealish if he plays in this below average Aston Villa team. Sooner or later, if he maintains this form, he'll be in the England squad before you know it.. News flash, Premier League golden boot winner Jamie Vardy had to wait until he was 28 to make his senior England debut. Don't count out Grealish yet. If not for the pandemic, he may well have got an England cap by now..

It’s a good contribution for a playmaker who were in the brink of relegation until the last fixture. Many of the top team playmakers couldn’t score or assist that much.

What's £100,000 that Manchester would be afraid of.. We offered flop Sanchez £450,000 a week and we would surely tempt Jack with more than £100, 000 but that's not the deal. We want skill.
salary is not a problem but buy him for £80 that is too much

I heard Man U owners in the US is going bankrupt because of Covit 19. Where are they going to get the money to buy in England?
Clubs are not run on the owners money... Every is expected to run profitably on it's own every season hence FFP. The owners can only inject around £30 million in a season if there is no profit being made.

if he stays at Aston villa, he will be paid 100,000 per week. but if man utd contact him, he will surely ask 200,000 per week. This is how players spoiled their own carrier due to greediness.

they can't keep relying on Jack if he stays he has to make sure that the club buys other potential players with whom he can enjoy the game rather than survive or there is better option join man united and go for glory .We are coming hot this season with explosive squad.

He will probably be playing in the Championship next season, for this reasons * Overrated, he wont be able to keep up his form coming season * Aston Villa will like go on relegation they wont be that lucky again * He will get stuck at Villa with his price tag * Missing out a great opportunity to join Man Utd, just like Josh King rejecting man utd this January transfer switch and Bournemouth now relegated
