Aston Villa's summer spending passed £100million on Thursday after they forked out £12.5m for Luiz.
So far, Dean Smith has made ten new signings this window, with rumours of more to come.
Central midfielder Luiz left Manchester City on Thursday after two years at the Etihad.
During his time in Manchester, he failed to make a single appearance for the first team, and spent both years out on loan.
After failing to crack the first team, he made the decision to leave this summer, with Villa picking up the talented prospect.
And after his move to Villa Park was made official, he revealed that staying in the Premier League was a major factor in his decision.
“Today is a really happy moment in my life and in my career,” he told the club's website.
“It's the start of another stage in my life. I've got another chance to play in the Premier League.
“I'm really happy to have signed today and it's the start of something great."

yes I know plus we came from a bad start and won the league and won the others with ease plus playing with injury to allot a players n still won, yet they bash us like it's not good enough this must stop
We were hit with soooo many injuries, especially during the crucial winter period Went most of the season without KDB and Mendy. And to reel in a very good Liverpool, then going on a 14 game win streak with only a 1 pt advantage....only legendary teams can achieve that.

Misleading article, making it sound as if he wasn't good enough for the 1st team. The only reason he didn't play for the 1st team was due to not being awarded a work permit. Simple

yes and it's getting to be annoying at times because city is good they have become public enemy.
It's just the envy. Put it this way, if you can't be great you'll hate. That's what's been happening. We've had back to back historic seasons, yet our achievements are being undercut left and right. 1st team to break 100pts, win back to back trophies in 12 yrs, win the domestic treble.....yet we're been compared to Liverpool's CL winning team.

thanks for sticking up for him real misleading
There's just this unrelenting bias towards City. Always seems to be some negative spin on anything regarding our club

OK but sometimes so many new players can have an adverse effect, on morale and the advancement of younger pro's ...

Another quality signing, bit worried about the back line though.
