Atalanta have offered Riccardo Montolivo a contract after his deal with Milan expired, claim La Gazzetta dello Sport.
According to Gazzetta transfer expert Nicolò Schira, the 34-year-old midfielder could be given a new lease of life in Bergamo.
He is a free agent after his Rossoneri contract finally expired, even though he hasn’t played for over a year because he refused transfers last summer and was frozen out by Coach Gennaro Gattuso.
It would be a return to Atalanta for Montolivo, who started out in their youth academy and moved to Fiorentina in 2005, going on to Milan as a free agent in 2012.
